PRESS RELEASE

VOICES Chorale, one of the area's premier choruses, announces auditions for interested singers for the 2005-2006 season. Applicants are encouraged to attend the open auditions held on Thursday, September 8, from 5 to 8 pm, at Music Together, 66 Witherspoon Street, Princeton, NJ, across from the Princeton Library and parking garage. All voice parts are welcome, no solo required. Other dates are possible. To schedule, please contact Sandy Duffy, Membership Chair, at 609-799-2211, or e-mail her at auditions@voiceschorale.org.

VOICES has been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall with choirs from England and Taiwan on November 20 in a concert sponsored by Mid-America Productions. Performance skill and familiarity in working with choirs from other countries prompted this invitation. VOICES "Festival of Candles and Carols" in December will include music by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Alexandre Gretchaninoff, and Randol Alan Bass, "Inspired by Weddings" in March will include "something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue." Music will highlight wedding cantatas by composers from three different centuries, Guillaume Dufay, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Daniel Pinkham. Brahms' Liebeslieder Waltzes and a few bluesy tunes will round out the program. May's concert will feature choral-orchestral works by Mozart and Handel, as well as the winning works from the VOICES Children's Composition Contest.

Regular season rehearsals are Monday evenings from 7:30 to 10:00 pm at Villa Victoria Academy, 376 W. Upper Ferry Rd, off Route 29 in Ewing, NJ.
