Summit
Chorale Announces 2005-06 Season
Summit Chorale, now in its 97th season and conducted by its renowned music director, Richard Garrin, is preparing an innovative concert series, Grand Nights for Singing, of music appealing to a broad range of tastes.
The 2005-2006 season opens with All That Hath Life and Breath - a varied program of short works celebrating beauty in the universe. This concert will be performed on Saturday, November 19, 8:00 p.m., in St. Johns Lutheran Church, Summit, NJ, with a second performance on Sunday, November 20, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, New Providence, NJ.
On Saturday, March 4, 8:00 p.m. the Chorale will present Gloria! featuring David Contes Invocation and Dance and Poulencs Gloria. These emotional and lovely works by two 20th century masters will be accompanied by a chamber orchestra at a location to be announced.
Like last Mays highly appreciated pops concert, a final concert, Come On, Get Happy!, will highlight songs from Broadway, Hollywood, and opera. This concert will be held on Saturday, May 20, 8:00 p.m. at a location to be announced.
All concerts will be in Madison/Summit area. Additional information will appear on www.summitchorale.org.
A Family Holiday Sing will occur on December 13 at a time and location TBA.
Subscriptions for all 3 concerts are priced at $40 Adults/$36 Seniors/$20 Students under 18. Checks may be mailed to Summit Chorale, P.O. Box 265, Summit, NJ 07902-0265.
