Garden State Philharmonic Seeks Youth Orchestra Violin Coach
Toms River, Ocean County, NJ - The Garden State Philharmonic, a non-profit professional musical organization, is seeking a part-time Violin Coach for its Symphonic Youth Orchestra (high school level) for the 2005-2006 School Year. The GSP is seeking interested and qualified candidates to assist in building high quality music experiences for the greater NJ Shore Region.
The Symphonic Youth Orchestra Violin Coach must demonstrate sufficient musical training, background, and experience teaching high school level musicianship, with a focus on violin and general string methods.
Responsibilities include:
* developing a chamber music program for outreach performance opportunities for young musicians
* conducting sectional rehearsals
* developing individual rehearsal skills for group performance
* participating in the audition process
* developing educational goals in coordination with the GSPYO leadership
* recruiting new student musicians to all levels of the Garden State Philharmonic Youth Orchestra
* serving as an ambassador for the GSPYO.The Youth Orchestra rehearses on Tuesday evenings in the Toms River, NJ, area from 7 pm to 9 pm. The position requires a Tuesday evening commitment of 2 hours for section coaching and chamber ensemble coaching, with substantial potential to build a private studio from area violin students to supplement income offered by the GSPYO.
A competitive 10-month stipend will be offered and determined by experience and qualifications.
