Coro Lirico Selects Jason Tramm as New Music Director

Coro Lirico is pleased to announce that Jason Tramm has been selected as their new Music Director. After an extensive search, Maestro Tramm was considered the outstanding choice to lead this concert opera chorus. The chorus' season will begin on November 8, 2005 with a concert of "Selected Opera Choruses" to be given at Passaic County College, 8 p.m., a January 7, 2006 performance of "It's a Grand Night for Opera" at Chatham Presbyterian Church, 8 pm., a Spring, 2006 performance of Donizetti's Luci a di Lammermoor, date and venue to be determined and a May 4, 2006 performance of L'Amore dei Tre Re with Opera Orchestra of New York , Eve Queler, Director, at Carnegie Hall, 8 pm. Maestro Tramm is an experienced opera and orchestral director, and he displays his talent as Chorus Master of the New Jersey State Opera, Assistant Conductor of the Riverside Choral Society in New York, and Founder and Artistic Director of the New Jersey Summit Summer Music Festival. He has conducted choral and opera concerts in New York, New Jersey and abroad and has been the recipient of the Rising Star Award given by the SUNY Potsdam Alumni Association for achievement in his field and promise for the future. Previous winners of this award have included Renee Fleming and Stephanie Blythe, Metropolitan Opera stars. His reviews have underscored his talent and include Willa Conrad in the Star-Ledger who declared that "The New Jersey State Opera had some impressive moments with the refreshingly vivacious and well-drilled chorus prepped by new Chorus Master Jason Tramm" , David Shengold in Opera News stating that "The choral singing was notably clean and well prepared" and John Hammel in Classical New Jersey who stated that "The New Jersey State Opera chorus' efforts were carried off with excellent interpretation and aplomb . . ." Mr. Tramm was selected by Maestro Alfredo Silipigni to conduct the 40th Anniversary Gala of New Jersey State Opera at the Paper Mill Theatre. Mr. Tramm resides in Summit with his wife and four children.
