Ars Musica Chorale is looking for singers

The Ars Musica Chorale, a concert chorus of approximately 50 voices, is looking for singers in all voice parts. Tenors and basses are especially welcome. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday nights at The Unitarian Society of Ridgewood, 113 Cottage Place, Ridgewood, NJ at 7:45 PM from September to June. Interested singers are welcome to join us at any rehearsal or contact Alexandra Cramer at 973-628-8793 or arsmusica@hotmail.com to make audition arrangements. Some basic music skills are preferred and passing a vocal audition is required.

Celebrating its fortieth anniversary this season, Ars Musica Chorale is known throughout the New York metropolitan region for the high caliber of its performances. The Chorale is also remarkable for the camaraderie among the members who come together to sing some of the world's most beautiful choral compositions. We present a formal three-concert season at the Church of the Annunciation in Paramus, N.J., and have appeared as guest artists in major venues throughout the metropolitan area and Europe. Additionally, we schedule several engagements throughout the area each year, usually at Christmas. In alternate summers the Chorale has toured in Europe and plans are currently underway for a tour next summer-interested travelers are welcome.

Music Director/Conductor Robert Long is recognized as an outstanding musician in the tri-state area. He served as Director of Music at St. Patrick's Cathedral where he conducted the Cathedral Choir and many world-renowned guest artists, including Renée Fleming, Ruth Ann Swenson, and The American Boychoir. He also conducted the St. Patrick's Cathedral Chamber Orchestra. He currently serves as Minister of Music for Corpus Christi Parish in Chatham, N.J. Maestro Long, only the third conductor in the Chorale's history, has taken our programming in new directions, exploring unusual genres, unaccustomed tonal languages, and generating new community outreach initiatives.
