Recital Will Feature Conservatory Faculty(Princeton, N.J. August 24, 2005) Westminster Conservatory, the community music school of Westminster Choir College of Rider University, will offer music instruction at two new Bucks County extensions beginning in September. The extensions will be at St. Frances Cabrini School in Fairless Hills and St. Ignatius of Antioch School.
Each extension will offer private instruction in piano, organ, voice, violin, viola, Suzuki violin, cello, flute, clarinet and saxophone. They will also offer group voice lessons for pre-teens and teens and piano explorations, a group piano class.
The Fairless Hills extension will be open Wednesday and Thursday, and the Yardley extension will be open on Tuesday and Saturday. Classes will begin the week of September 12. To register, call the Westminster Conservatory main office in Princeton at 609-921-7104 ext. 8260.
In addition to the Bucks County extensions and the main office on the Westminster Choir College campus in Princeton, Westminster Conservatory also offers programs in New Jersey at Princeton Academy in Princeton, St. Ann's School in Lawrenceville, N.J. and Crossroads School South in South Brunswick.
"Westminster Conservatory's programs are grounded in the belief that music has the capacity to touch people and to change lives," says Executive Director Scott Hoerl. "We strive to provide excellence in music instruction to both amateur and professional musicians to promote the appreciation and performance of music within the community. We are delighted to have the opportunity to share our mission with Bucks County through our two new extensions."
To celebrate the opening of the Bucks County extensions, Westminster Conservatory will present a recital by faculty members at the Lower Makefield Township Building on Sunday, September 18 at 3:00 p.m. The program will include jazz for piano and saxophone, four-hands piano music, works for cello and flute, and musical theater selections. Solo pianists Marvin Rosen and Clipper Erickson will perform music of Estonian composers and Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. A meet-the-artists reception will follow the performance. Admission is free.
